About Us

We are the UK’s largest Independent Lift, Stairlift and Escalator components supplier. 

Founded in 1989 by Harold Reeley, our company ethos has always been to supply those in the Lift Industry with quality components at competitive prices. Harold was a Lift Engineer himself, who saw a gap in the market to supply replacement spares for foreign package lifts that were becoming more popular in the UK. Harold believed that engineers and lift companies should be able to source these components more easily and with shorter lead times than they would face if trying to deal directly with the original Manufacturers. 

Using his background in mechanical engineering, Harold looked to local fabricators to create copies of the most common items he encountered. Initially, these were primarily made from plastic and steel, which is why the original company name was Reeley Plastics. His wife, Janet, was in charge of the customer orders, making sure they were packed and despatched on time and in premium condition.

Harold truly found a niche within the industry, and we soon built an excellent reputation within the Lift industry. 

In the late 1990s, Harold looked to expand the business by bringing his daughter, Angie, on board. Angie worked with Harold to develop our product catalogue, providing drawings and photographs to help engineers on site identify the correct product for their needs. Angie also fostered relationships with overseas suppliers to bridge the gap between what was needed and what could be fabricated within the UK at that time.

Unfortunately, Harold passed away in 1999 leaving to continue Harold’s work. As time went by, Angie’s husband Gary joined the business. The business continued to grow and our product ranges expanded, allowing us to offer even more to our customers.

Since the humble beginnings of the business in Harold’s garage, Reeley have grown from strength to strength. We now occupy a 42,000 square foot warehouse, just 9 miles from where it all began. 

We are still family owned and run, with Angie and Gary still highly involved in the day to day running of the business. Within our main office, we have our Sales, Technical and Accounts teams to answer any questions you may have, from product identification to order tracking. In our Warehouse, we have a dedicated team who work tirelessly to ensure that your parcels go out on time and in great condition, just as they always have.
